Full Bio:

Justin O'Connell creates music that feels both intimate and expansive. His songs are rooted in introspection, blending a stripped-back folk sensibility with an atmospheric, experimental edge.

Justin spent over a decade in Colorado, where mountain landscapes and wide skies became his primary sonic companions. There, he found his voice leading the indie-folk band Red Moon Rounder, known for their haunting melodies, driving rhythms, and Americana-flecked sound. With Red Moon Rounder, Justin grew from playing in the small corners of Irish pubs to opening for national acts like Shane Smith & The Saints and appearing on multiple festival stages, honing his craft as a frontman and songwriter.

Returning to his native Michigan marked a creative pivot. With his solo project Uì Conaill, Justin has turned inward, shaping a collection of new songs that set the foundation for his next chapter. His lyrics read like poetry—words turned inside out, shaken loose, and given new meaning. There is a quiet spaciousness in every track, echoing the fields and forests of the Midwest and the sweeping peaks of the Rockies.

This is music for crisp mornings and contemplative evenings—with fresh grounded coffee brewed slow as the last leaves linger on the trees.
